The "Lothar and Mathias Patzig Foundation" was set up to support science and research, youth welfare, art and culture, monument protection and preservation, schooling, public education and vocational training as well as local tradition and history. The foundation was named after the son of company re-founder Lothar Patzig, who was a former production manager and died young, and has been active since the start of 2014.
