Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH is the first smelter in the world to be able to produce a sustainable and extremely high-quality fine tin with a purity of 99.99% from complex secondary materials. GreenTin+, which is ecologically produced through recycling and upcycling processes, is available as a pure material.

Furthermore, all common EMS solders can be produced with the base material GreenTin, which is also obtained through complex recycling processes and is available in the required alloy specifications.

As a member of the Institute for Sustainable Electronics, Symtronics, we are working to make the electronics industry more sustainable through a circular economy.

During electronica, which takes place from 12 - 15 November 2024 in Munich, interested parties can find out more about the Sym network, sustainable solutions in electronics and Green Tin+ at the joint stand 526 in hall B3.

GreenTin+ will provide companies in the EMS industry with sustainable soft solders in the form of tubular solders or as bar or ingot solders. International corporations in particular are already using thelow-CO2 solders on a large scale. However, medium-sized EMS service providers are also already making full use of GreenTin solders.

Cooperation in the Symworking ecosystem

For example, Mayerhofer Elektronik GmbH from Sauerlach, south of Munich, uses the solder from Feinhütte Halsbrücke in series production. ‘I am convinced that we will also have to align electronics production with ecological KPIs in the future. We at Mayerhofer have been going down this path for some time because we are convinced of it. We were therefore also looking for a sustainably produced solder that also avoids the use of the difficult conditions in the tin mining areas in Asia. After all, the social aspect is also important to us. GreenTin+ fulfils these requirements and is also a top-quality product that achieves outstanding soldering results. In addition, our process residues are recycled directly in the smelter and can be used in new solders - fully in line with the circular economy,’ emphasises Merlin Reingruber, Managing Director of Mayerhofer Elektronik.

Together with Mayerhofer Elektronik and six other companies from the industry, Feinhütte Halsbrücke will be exhibiting at this year's electronica. At the joint stand, interested visitors can see how sustainability works through symbiosis and what economic and ecological benefits result from intelligent networking.
